What We Do

We got our start like a lot of ranch kids do—raising a few animals for the county fair. Back then it was just Turner Farms, and the herd was small enough to fit in the backyard. Over the years our passion grew right alongside our livestock, and what began as a handful of animals has turned into Turner Land and Livestock.

Today, we manage our herd with a different mindset. Instead of just raising animals, we focus on working with the land itself. We lease most of our pastures and use adaptive rotational grazing to build soil health, regenerate grasslands, and leave every acre better than we found it.

It hasn’t been easy, especially here in Missoula where open ground keeps shrinking and condos too often replace cows. But we’re committed to keeping livestock on the land and proving that ranching and community growth can exist side by side.

At Turner Land and Livestock, we’re proud to keep growing—not just in numbers, but in the way we care for our animals, the land, and the people we feed.

“To steward the land within the urban interface, where condos often replace cows, by using regenerative practices that rebuild soils and feed our community”
